Get your kicks...on Route 66!

Friday, 9/16/11, just after the show. No, I don't know who the kid is, it was just me and Allen, my neighbor at the event.

Cruising San Bernadino in a 1965 VW Notch (not my car), behind a '62 Chevy Nova. It took over one hour to do the whole downtown lap! Ever see American Grafitti?...Yes, it was all of that. We were suddenly invited to jump in and hit the road...and of course, we didn't say no!

The VW Notch as we jumped out of the car, looking back.

Allen, "Chuck Berry Duck Walk", before the show.

The Man, with a poorly used by me Nikon Coolpix L22 12 MegaPixel, on zoom from back of upper balcony in The California Theater, San Bernadino, Calif.

Chuck Berry, 3 MegaPixel cell phone camera.

I have some short vids, maybe post that later.

The biggest car show I have ever seen!

From the website:

Car buffs from all over the country gather in San Bernardino to get their “Kicks on Route 66.” The Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous is a 4-day and 3-night cruisin’ classic car show that encompasses 35-blocks of downtown. Open to vehicles from 1900-1974, classics, muscle cars, hot rods, and trucks cruise the historic streets of San Bernardino.

Oh, I have always wanted to see Chuck Berry.

Before I read your words, just looking at the photos, the first thing that came to mind was American Grafitti........love that move btw.

Looks like fun Dan.

Hi Dan, it’s always nice to hear from you again. Your note was just mixed-up enough for me to understand. I’ll certainly check it out.

It’s comforting to know that you’re still rocking and rolling in fun. I’m told it’s also nice to be rolling in dough but I’ll settle for rolling in fun for now.

It's also comforting to know that California hasn't fallen into the ocean, but I guess that is yet to come.
